Sundance, on foot
When the Sundance Film Festival comes to Boulder, the city’s compact geography becomes one of its greatest advantages.
Many festival venues sit downtown or nearby, allowing guests to move between screenings, meetings, restaurants, and their residence without spending the day in a car.

Both sit beyond a comfortable winter walk from downtown. Chautauqua is tucked against the base of the Flatirons, while Cinemark is east of the city center.
Walk times are general guides rather than measured routes. Boulder’s pedestrian mall, creek path, trails, and terrain all shape how the city is experienced on foot.

Pearl Street
At the center of downtown Boulder, the Pearl Street Mall brings together restaurants, bars, shops, galleries, and gathering places across four pedestrian blocks and the surrounding streets.
It’s where much of Boulder naturally comes together.
Coffee shops & tea houses
Boulder takes its coffee, and its tea, seriously.
Independent cafés, neighborhood coffee shops, and distinctive tea houses are woven throughout downtown and the surrounding neighborhoods, places to start the morning, take a meeting, or settle in for a while.

Boulder Creek
The Boulder Creek Path runs directly through the city, connecting downtown with neighborhoods, parks, the University of Colorado campus, and miles of paths in either direction.

The flagship University of Colorado campus sits immediately southeast of downtown, making CU an integral part of the city rather than a separate destination.
The foothills
Boulder’s open space begins at the edge of town.
Chautauqua, Mt. Sanitas, and an extensive network of trails sit remarkably close to downtown and many of the neighborhoods represented in the VelareLX collection.
